The numbers
Unique clients with at least one session in 2025, counted from the practice system. A family counts once.
Individual, couples, family and short-term sessions in 2025, plus group sessions counted per person. Cancellations and no-shows excluded.
Sessions billed on the sliding scale at $95 or less, against an average cost of $101 a session. The fee fund covered $61,000 of the difference.
Median days from the intake call to the first session, for clients who started in the last quarter of 2025 (median 21 days; the longest was 38).
Of clients who started in the first half of 2025, the share who attended a sixth session or finished a planned shorter course. Not an outcome measure; the center does not publish outcome claims.
Every number on this site comes with the sentence that says how it was counted. No method, no number — and no outcome claims, because a counseling center that advertised results would be promising what it cannot know.
The year
Sixty-nine cents of every dollar goes to counselors. The board is nine volunteers; the clinical director is the one salaried manager. The county contract pays for short-term support in full and part of the fee fund.
Three 990s, the review, the letter
The three most recent Form 990s are listed by themselves; older years drop off. A center this size has a review, not an audit, and says so. Every document is a labelled sample: the center is invented, and so are the figures.
What each one says
Form 990, Part I is the one-page summary: what came in, what went out, what is left. Part IX splits every dollar into program, management and fundraising. Part III is the story in words: how many people, how many sessions, how much aid.
The review is what a center this size has instead of an audit: an accountant checks the statements without the full audit procedures, and says so on the first page.
The IRS letter is what makes gifts deductible. The sample presents what the letter states in the center's own typography, on purpose, so that nobody can mistake a demonstration document for a government one.
One session, for someone who could not pay for it
$95 is one session at the middle of the scale; $30 is one at the bottom. Monthly gifts let the intake coordinator say yes to the fee fund without checking the balance first.

The fee fund, in sessions
Gifts go to the fee fund first; the split is on this page every year, and the January statement says which. Gifts of stock, or a gift in someone's name, by email to [email protected]. The center never lists donors by name.
